Linear Analysis This assessment covers learning outcomes 1, 3, 5, and 7 for this module and the standard University assessment criteria for this level apply.
A triangular plate with a 35mm diameter hole and 3 fillets of R30mm is fully constrained at one end and subjected to bearing the load of P inside the hole with the coverage area of 180o as shown in Figure 1. The material properties are listed below:
Modulus of Elasticity = 220GN/m2
Poisson’s Ratio = 0.35
Yield Strength = 240MPa
The flat plat has been designed with a thickness of 15mm and the length L = 150mm. Determine the maximum allowable load P in such a way that the flat plat is within the elastic limit.
