Coursework Brief:

 

You are required to help two of the top grocery retailers based in West Yorkshire in their efforts to reduce their customers carbon footprint by locating 10 local businesses within the Yorkshire business. Further the retailers wish to collaborate by adopting joint quality standards like QS-9000 in the automotive industry and work done in using order platforms like Covosint. They also would like all businesses in the network to be values led. Finally, they would like to allow the customers enhanced access to product information by utilising the power of internet of things and enable traceability of products from Seed to Recycling.

 

1)      Devise a planning methodology that can be utilised so that all businesses can work together to reduce errors in forecasting and waste in the supply chain. [20 Marks]

2)      Design a quality standard in creating a supply chain that is value led and achieves exceptional customer satisfaction. [20 Marks]

3)      Identify what IoT technologies can be employed to create a traceability mechanism to enhance customers’ ability to trace food sources and its quality of its production? [20 Marks]

4)      Design a local food distribution network using 10 local businesses and 5 warehouses in West Yorkshire that can be shared by the two retailers and reduce footprint of products and identify their impact on existing supply chains and customers. [20 Marks]

5)      What can customers and above businesses in these supply chains do to ensure that the supply chains have minimal impact on the environment? [20 Marks]
