Formative guidance
u This case study, taken from your own practice experience,
should follow the above key areas. This is your
opportunity to outline an issue: one that provides examination of collaborative working and therein also questions the leadership
styles involved. It is essential to note that this is not reflective
per se, but provides you with a mechanism to explore the title subject.
u You will use this to focus on the theoretical elements covered within the module. This case study is only to be used as
a platform to help you formulate your focus. Therefore
you will need to identify
the key issues.
u This case study will form an appendix and is the only area of your assignment that does not need references;
you will however need to pinpoint the areas for debate within the main body of the assignment.
continued……
u Within the main body of the work your analysis will use literature to support either the possible negatives or positives of leadership and collaborative working.
u You will consider
the leadership styles that currently operate within the health
sector and consider the options and
select a leadership style whilst providing a rationale for your
final selection. Of course all your decisions and conclusions must be supported with examples of evidence based practice.
Platform for formative
assignment
u The platform for your summative
assignment is the identification of a practice based activity (formative
submission) that you observed or
where directly involved in, this should be no more than 400 words and will be used as an appendix for your summative assignment.
u This is a
case study and not reflective
assignment so the activity you use will be a means of examining theory
and its
application to practice, both
positively and of negatively.
An example case study template is provided
as guidance.

Looking
Ahead: CW1 Guidance
u
The assignment should include
an outline of the circumstances surrounding the need for collaborative
working. The identification of those agencies involved in the situation, with a brief summary
of the outcome.
u The 3000 words will be used to;
u I dentify the key areas for debate and discussion; leadership, management and collaborative activities.
u Of the strategies identified was the action appropriate in all areas, and provide academic
rationale for your reasoning.
u Use literature
AND RESEARCH to demonstrate your
critical ability and why the theory
supports the decisions either positively or negatively.
u Overall you should amalgamate leadership and collaboration to inform theoretical perspectives and demonstrate understanding;
there are contributors within the
literature who argue that there has to
be distinction between theory and its relationship
to utility within the context of collaboration or leadership.
